Pumpkin Carving 2012 was awesome! Our house was full of people that had their game face on to win the ultimate prize of best pumpkin. This was the first year that we had power tools brought to carve pumpkins. I am tell you, this group of people were serious. lol
I really don’t know how many were there but it was well over 30 people and it was not an expensive event at all. I pretty much stuck to my normal menu that I have done in the last few years. You can read about it here. and here. We did not have the Alfredo Soup this year. The girls all brought desserts and drinks. The food they brought was out of this world. My daughter made a homemade apple pie completely from scratch. It was amazing.
I used my roaster oven to hold all the chili. It worked great. I cooked the chili and then I just turned it down on warm. Perfect way to serve and one pot to clean.
If you have a family, I encourage you to celebrate fall with a pumpkin carving. You don’t have to have a big one, but make a memory with your family that becomes a tradition and a special memory with special fall food, pumpkins and a bonfire. It is something that we all look forward to each year…… even my son that acts like he doesn’t care at all about the pumpkin carving, came home from college. I think he enjoys the food and seeing his mom. :)
