Lisa Chan, wife to Francis Chan, has created a wonderful tool and guide to bringing us ladies closer to the Lord and just resting in Him. I have had the opportunity over the past few weeks to review the first in the film series True Beauty: Finding Your Identity in Jesus called Be Still. I am always amazed at how God works through even the opportunities that He gives me through writing on this blog. This was exactly what I needed to see, hear and be challenged to do at this time in my life. Gregg and I are so busy. So busy doing a lot of good that sometimes I miss just relaxing in the Lord and hearing what He wants me to hear that day.
Be Still’s film addresses issues that women face and how we handle them when we have not spent time with Jesus. Another encouraging part of the film was it made me realize even people that I think have it all together struggle with Being still and spending that quality needed time with our Father.
The film is an encouraging time of devotion that is lead by Lisa Chan and shared through a story of Susan that showed us the struggles of a broken marriage and how she clung to the word of God and just relied on Christ to give her strength. It showed how Susan read the word, sat quietly and listened to what God was telling her.
I am thankful for this series that Lisa Chan is doing. It opens her life up to us and she talks candidly about where she is and she is able to provide advice that is practical and Biblical along allows us to see where she is being challenged in being still. Be Still came into my life at the perfect time and ministered to me and I want to give you the opportunity to be ministered to as ladies in this way too.
