Mayfield Ice Cream has arrived in Louisville!!!!

My husband spotted the billboard as we were coming down the road! We are from Georgia originally and in Louisville we have not been able to get Mayfield Ice Cream or Milk. My husband really has missed that creamy ice cream.

Thrive Weightloss Update!

I am finishing up week 5 of my weightloss journey. This has been the most rewarding weightloss I have EVER done. I have lost a total so far…… drum roll…… 29.8 lbs. I have felt better than I have felt in a long long time. I dont’ get out of breath as easily, I have not had heartburn not one time, my energy level is up, I am satisfied with my food options, I don’t ever crave sweets. The biggest and more exciting thing is, I checked my blood pressure the other night and the first time in a long time my numbers are in normal range!!!!!

I am still quite a ways away from my goal weight but I see this as being a lifestyle and not a DIEt. I am eating healthy and it is something that has become a mindset instead of a chore to do.

I have been taught each week and encouraged each week by a group that has either done the program and had sucess or by people that are on the journey with me.

Thrive Weightloss

Thrive Weightloss has been an awesome experience so far for me. I have been doing the program for 4 weeks now and have lost 20.1 lbs. I am so excited. I want to start sharing with you my weightloss journey especially now that I have found a program that works to heal the body fully and not just become a quick way to loose weight.

Why has it took me 4 weeks to talk about this? Well, I am very protective of what I write about. I don’t want to share anything with you that might be hurtful, harmful and untrue. I wanted to see and check out this program for myself before sharing with you. I wanted to make sure that I could do the program and it not be something that is extreme or not healthy. I knew after the 2nd week that I wanted to start sharing with you my journey.

What is Thrive Weightloss? It is a program that is geared for you to loose your weight and teach you how to eat healthy. It is not a fast weightloss program. It has seen fast results for many because of the amount of weight needed to be lost but it is a lifestyle not a diet. You learn to eat portion control and also combinations that help your body digest the food properly and effeciently.

Is this something that the whole family can do? YES! My family is eating what I am eating. My children are eating what I am eating. My son is 17 and he loves eating veggies and protein. He will eat more than I do but that is because he is active in basketball and has a teenage boys appietite. My husband is also eating the same foods and enjoying the results that he is seeing in my weight loss.

What is the best part of being a part of this program? The training, the one on one question and answers when ever you need help. They have a facebook group that is awesome, a 1-800 number that you can call and numerous email address that you can connect with. I attend a class online each week since there is not a center near me and I am able to chat with others across America that is doing the same while getting the same training that the ones sitting in the class is getting.

Accountablility? Absolutely, You have accountability. The people at Thrive will call and check up on you during the week , you journal and send them / or take them in each week for them to be checked and you either weight at the center or send your weight in. I personally have asked a person here in my town that I am accountable to each week to talk with and share with. I know she will be seeing me each week and I would have to face her if I was not acheiving my goals correctly. This is not necessary because Thrive provides plenty of people to talk with but I know with my struggle with weightloss, I need to go that extra mile.

Walgreens has their TGI Friday chips on sale this week for $1.39 . You can print coupons from here to get FREE Bags. The coupon is valued at $1.50 so the cashier will have to adjust down the coupon. You can print two coupons from each computer that you have so this would be a great stock up item.

Earn Extra Money with Mystery Shopping Part 3

Last night we got to enjoy looking over the river at restaurant called Cafe Magnolia at the Galt House. It was a great time and the best part is, we will get reimbursed for the food and parking that we paid for just by letting the Mystery Shopping company know about our experience. We didn’t earn any extra money for this mystery shop but we got a $60 meal for FREE when they reimburse us.

I wanted to talk to you about how to go the extra mile when doing a mystery shop. You need to be very detail oriented when doing the shops but one thing that I have found when doing these shops is that a stop watch or your timer on your cell phone is a must. Mystery shop companies are very concerned with the arrival time, times that you were helped and also times that you departed. If you do a restaurant shop, there are even more times that you watch for. Such as last night, we just kept the cell phone on the table and I had a note pad in my purse and we wrote down the time we arrive, time we were seated, time we were greeted by the waiter, served drinks, salads, meal, dessert, check, and left. That sounds like a lot but it is very important to the company when reviewing the service. It is not hard to do on your part and the mystery shop company loves these details.

Always watch for how the person interacts with their co-workers, other customers and even you. Remember to write down a special greeting or how the employee made you feel.

I alway print off the guidelines for the shop as well as the survey that you will take after you do the shop and read through them a couple of times before I do the shop to make sure I catch everything that the company wants to be reviewed.

Details are very important to the company. In every report that I have done, they always have given me an opportunity to freely write my thoughts and observations of the shop. Use this area to be creative and point out little things that you have observed. Don’t just write, the shop was great. The employee was nice. Tell about the greeting that you were greeted with and also tell about how the person looked you in the eyes. Use descriptives.

Baking Soda, Not just for deodorizing your Frig

I read an article a little over a year ago that gave some great ideas on what you can use baking soda for. I have used several of these ideas over the past 6 months and I can say, they really do work. Here are a few that I do that I want to share with you.

Make a fluffy omelet by adding 1/2 tsp of baking soda to every 3 eggs.
Pour 1 cup of baking soda into a clogged drain and follow by pouring 1 cup of hot vinegar. This really works. It will unclog your drain. Plus it is fun to watch as it bubbles.
Sprinkle baking soda on your cracks in your sidewalk. This helps keep the weeds from growing in the cracks.
Deodorant for the dog. I put baking soda in a old salt shaker and sprinkle on the fur and rub it in. This acts as a deodorizer.
Polish your silver and gold jewelry with a paste that is made with water and baking soda.
Fill your dishwasher detergent wells with baking soda and run a cycle to clean your dishwasher.
Soak your toothbrushes in a mixture of 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup baking soda and let them soak overnight. This is one of my favorite ones. It makes your toothbrush so clean. Also extends the life of your toothbrush.

Baking soda is so cheap at the stores, but it has a world of uses that cut cost. It cuts cost because you don’t have buy expensive cleaners or deodorizers.
