Couponing 101 Day3 Where in the world do I get coupons?

OB-DE854_coupon_DV_200902242321321-199x300Do you stand in a grocery line and the person in front of you has coupons that you have never seen before?  There are so many different places to get coupons.  You can get coupons from publications, internet, mail, blinkies, peel pads, and off of products.  Let me try to share with you some of these mystery places to find coupons.

Sunday papers.  This is the first place you want to start looking for coupons.  The paper comes each week with coupon inserts.  You could have as little as 2 inserts and up to 6.  I will pick up a couple of papers a week and if it is a really good week I might pick up my third paper.  Just a little hint, if it is holiday weekend, there will not be any coupons in the papers.

Internet Coupons.  Here are a few sites that I enjoy getting coupons from.

  • Coupons.com Put in your zip code and it will pull up coupons for your area.  You can use other zip codes also for different offers.  I keep coupon.com on my right side of this site for you to access easily.
  • Cellfire.com This is a great service. You can download coupons to your cell phone or to your Kroger card.  If you download it to your cell phone, you will get  a text and then you would show the text to the cashier.
  • Kroger Card You can go to Kroger.com and click on the kroger plus card on the top right corner and then click on the bottom right “more ways to save” .  You can load your Kroger card with coupons for your next trip.  When you have them scan your card, the coupons will come off the end.
  • Smart Source Coupons This is another coupon site that you put in your zip code and coupons will come up for your area.
  • RedPlum.com Another great site to put in your zip code and print coupons.

Mail The mail is full of coupons.  If you look in the magazines that you get, the ads that your receive and also companies that are marketing their products.

Peelies & Tear Pads. Have you ever noticed the red blinking boxes that are throughout the grocery store and the teat pads that are on displays?  If these are items that you might use, get some of them for future use.  Usually when they are displayed, the item is not at a rock bottom price, but when it is at rock bottom price, these coupons will already be gone.  Go ahead and get some of the coupons to save for that great sale.

Products in your home.  Look on the back of items, the inside of boxes and on wrappers.  Coupons could be hidding anywhere.  Take a double look before you sell anything.

You need to get into the mindset that even if you are not buying the product right now, you need to cut that coupon and file it for later.  Products hit their rock bottom prices at least once every 12 weeks.  That coupon might cause the item to be FREE, so it would be a bummer to not have it when that sales happens.

Contact me if you have any questions.

Have a great evening.
