early-to-rise

Day 7 on our Early to Rise Challenge:  Changing my habits one habit at a time.  While reading Early to Rise Challenge this morning I was encouraged by the challenge to take my goals in habit changing and focus on the small changes as well as the big ones.  Changing your small habits are just as important as the big ones.  And they both need to be celebrated when they have been changed for the better.

I wanted to share a section from today reading out of the Early to Rise book

The only number that matters in building this habit is “1″

Habits happen ONE decision at a time.
Habits die ONE decision at a time.
Habits start ONE day.
Habits are the responsibility of ONE person.
Habits are formed by people who realize they only get ONE life.
Habits are formed by the ONE person you can control: you.

Today I was very encouraged by reading this. It takes several changes to make a huge difference but each small change is the building of the wall. Brick by Brick.
One other thing that was a little refreshing was the section I wrote about above….. It is up to me, I can’t rely on my husband to do it for me. For example….. the alarm sounds, I lay there and wait to see if Gregg responds. I base my reaction off of his reaction to the alarm. It is not his habit that I am changing….. it is mine. I am in control of if I get up early or not.

Lift

Andy Traub recommended an app from iTunes called Lift™ – Lift Worldwide. It is an app that helps you keep track of your goals or habits that you want to change. I am going to download it to my iPad and start using it to help keep my goals in front of me.

How are you doing? Are you making progress in the area of getting up earlier and making your morning more productive?
