Do you remember this post? I wrote this back in March of 2009. I have to say, I still love this toaster oven and we use it all the time. I just wanted to share the post again with you because my little trip to Goodwill has now yielded several years of a good buy and saved me money on energy.
I have wanted to get a toaster oven before the summer gets here. But just could not break down and purchase one. Toaster ovens are great when you need the oven but only have one thing to cook. Do it in a toaster oven. The toaster ovens have oven settings and just require less energy to cook. During the summer you are already battling with the kitchen being too hot so why crank up that stove when you don’t have to.
After leaving church yesterday, my son and I ran by Good Will. I was looking for a piece of furniture but walked out with a beautiful Oster Inspire Red toaster oven. It needed to be cleaned a little but everything was in working order, no chips or stains.
I brought it home, used oven cleaner on the glass and shined the outside. It looks new. (just like the picture) Here is the best part……. I paid $4.75 for it!!!! YEAH!

That short trip to Good Will saved my family 65.24 before we even start counting the energy savings.

YUK! Ticks
My friend has already had 2 ticks on her from riding her bike on trails this summer. YIKS!!!
I HATE ticks. I think that (other than spiders) is the one thing that I can’t handle. I found the other day a great way to get ticks off of you without touching or pulling on them.
Take a cotton ball and soak it in Dawn dish detergent. Then cover the tick with the detergent too. Put the cotton ball over the tick. The tick will back out of the skin and get stuck on the cotton ball. All you will have to do is flush it down the toilet.
I am so excited to know this. I hope I never have to try. When I pull a tick off, I am always afraid of leaving a piece of it in my skin.

Lisa Chan has produced her second video in the series of True Beauty called Deny Yourself. This is a video series that is teaching about how to Find your identity in Christ. The first video that I was able to review was Be Still. I have been asked again to review the second in the series called Deny Yourself. I accepted the offer quickly because I remember the impact that Be Still had on my life and I want to soak up more of the wisdom and insight that Lisa Chan has in our Father.
After studying the Gospel of Luke, Lisa was struck by Jesus’ command that “whoever does not carry their cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.” But, in a world that shamelessly encourages accumulation of material possessions and growth of status—with nary a thought of anyone else—denying oneself and living solely for God seems counterintuitive, and even foolish. Lisa shares her heart and encourages us as believers to take up the cross daily and deny our selfish desires and wants and live in full contentment and joy.
This video as well as the first video Be Still have been excellent. You get engaged from the beginning with Lisa sharing her heart on how the scriptures convicted her and then through out the video a story of a wife & mother lived out the denying her selfish desired to follow Christ and finds herself in full contentment and her broken home healed and full of joy.
This is a great series for a women’s group to do together. There is resources for each video.

You can understand now my excitement. It was like Christmas in April.
My favorite of all was the Venus Olay Razor. I had not actually tried this version of the Venus razor and I love it!!! It made my legs feel so smooth after shaving. Ususally I have to use a loofa or a sugar scrub to get the really smooth feel even after shaving but this worked amazingly. My husband snatched the Gillette Fusion ProgGlide Irritation Defense Shave Gel and Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power razor as soon as I opened the box and could not wait to try that. His face felt so smooth after that morning shave. :)
After using these products and enjoying the quality that the product brings, I can’t express enough how valuable in $$ and quality P&G is. I love these products. The Tide PODS…… so easy to use and no mess at all. And yes, the Febreze Car Vent Clip was a huge plus in our car when we were carrying around food for an event. It covered up the smell of 100 pounds of Pork that we have to transport for a banquet.

As I was sitting last night in a chair in my living room that faces my kitchen, I was dreaming about how to update my kitchen.
