Weight Management Monday!

greagg and anndWell, it is the beginning of the year and what is the number one resolution that most people make…….. loose weight.  My husband and I both want to get healthier and shed a some weight also.  So what are we doing to make this happen? 

  1. Cut out most of our eating out.  We are traveling through drive through as often as we normally would.  We are eating at home.  Meals that are balanced and full of veggies. 
  2. Doing the Wii Fit Plus.  I love this.  It is great.  We can all do this, it is convenient and also fun.  I love the fact that the system keeps up with your progress and you can customize your workout to meet your needs.
  3. Getting more rest.  We are night owls.  We love to stay up late but our work schedules still make us get up in the mornings at the same time.  We are determined to get the right amount of sleep needed.
  4. Cooking more at home.  I mentioned above that we are cutting out most of our eating out.  I am cooking more at home which means I have had to get back to planning a menu and looking out every one’s schedules for the entire week.  We are following the eating style of the South Beach Diet . This was a recommendation from my Gynecologist. 

Through this journey, I wanted to share it with you each week.  A little bit of accountability, a little bit of knowledge learned and a little bit of what I have found works and doesn’t work.  Here is our plan

  1. Do our workouts on the Wii Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday for 45 minutes.
  2. Getting into the habit of eating 3 meals a day with a small snack in the afternoon.  Other than that, no eating between meals.
  3. Getting in bed by 11 p.m.  We hope to move this up to 10:30 p.m. but this is already a big change for us.
  4. No sweets for the next two weeks.  This is the hardest one for me because I love Chocolate.

way to go! you can totally do it! I lost forty pounds last year and feel great!! it was hard hard work but totally worth it!!
